Our Story...
Sonya's Story
Sonya's story begins in the small town of Upper Arlington, a suburb of Columbus, OH. After graduating from UA High School, she moved on to collegiate life at the University of Michigan. To this day, she still has an obscene amount of Wolverine pride. A brief check of the CD player in her car would produce a disc that has all of the University of Michigan Marching Band fight songs on it. After a long, stressful day at work, she likes to relax to "Hail to the Victors..." on the drive home.
After college, Sonya packed up her things and moved to Boston with friends Chrissie and Paige (Lindsay was there too, bonus!). She had no job, but was determined to be a midwest girl to make it on the east coast (she says hello to people on the street, gasp!). She soon took a postion with Constellation Energy, where she's now worked almost 10 years. Most notably she helped launch a new product called Demand Response.
Let's take a quick break and jump over to Kyle's Story.

Kyle's Story

Kyle grew in up Reisterstown, MD, a suburb northwest of Baltimore. He graduated from Franklin High School and went of to Virginia Tech with his best friend J. In March of his freshman year, his daughter Jordan was born (yay!). To be closer to home, he transferred to Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) to finish his degree, but still considers himself a Hokie. Thankfully, with VT being in the ACC and Michigan a Big 10 school, the chances of Sonya and Kyle rooting against each other are almost non-existent. Unless, of course, the year is 2012 where they happened to meet in the Sugar Bowl (the Wolverines, on a few lucky plays, won that game 23-20).
While Kyle was attending VJC, he took an intership with an energy trading firm, which led to a 15 year career at Constellation. In 2010, he was running an IT development team building applications for the Demand Response team.
Yup, you see where this is going....
The rest, as they say, is history.
Sonya fell head-over-heels in love with Kyle! She packed up her apartment, shoes, frisbees, and job and moved them all to Baltimore. Sonya moved in with Kyle where they enjoyed living in the Baltimore neighborhood of Fells Point and walking (skipping) to work together every morning holding hands, aww.
In 2013, they decided they wanted to be closer to family (and the loud 2am Fells Point crowd had lost its charm). They bought a house just north of the city in Hunt Valley. Sonya was in shock for a bit, but eventually traded in her sneaks for wheels, and they have settled in nicely. Kyle and Sonya are often on the go: hiking, camping, traveling to visit friends, playing on the water, and choosing their own adventures together.
